For the past several years, I’ve worked as an HR accountant professional. On the surface, my career has been stable, secure, and dependable. But deep down, I knew something was missing. The excitement, thrill, and enjoyment I craved in my work just weren’t there. The pay remained stagnant, and while my job allowed me to support myself, it didn’t challenge me in the way I wanted. I missed the feeling of working on something that truly sparked joy—something that brought me back to my roots in engineering and problem-solving.
You see, before becoming an HR professional, I earned my bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. Back then, I was passionate about coding and working with hardware, always eager to solve problems and build something from scratch. But when I moved to the US, things didn’t go as planned. My experience from outside the country didn’t hold the same value in the job market here. No one was willing to give me a chance in the tech field, and that was disheartening. I had worked hard to earn my degree and build my expertise, yet the opportunities seemed out of reach.
When an HR role opened up, I decided to take it. At the time, it was the best option available, and I embraced it. While I gained a lot of valuable experience in HR and accounting, there was always a part of me that missed the thrill of coding, the joy of troubleshooting, and the excitement of working on new technologies. As the tech world continued to evolve, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was missing out on something bigger.
Software engineering started looking like it would only be more and more crucial down the line, and I wanted to be part of that future again. That’s when I discovered TripleTen.
I had heard about bootcamps before, but TripleTen stood out to me because of its hands-on approach and comprehensive curriculum. It wasn’t just about learning to code—it was about building real-world skills that would allow me to transition into the tech industry confidently. I was nervous at first. After all, it had been years since I had worked with code. Would I be able to keep up? Would I still have that same passion and ability?
As soon as I started the program, my doubts began to fade. TripleTen’s Software Engineering Bootcamp gave me the exact kind of challenge I had been looking for. The structure of the course was not only immersive but also encouraging. Each sprint was designed to push us out of our comfort zones while ensuring we had the support and resources we needed to succeed. I was finally doing something that I loved again—coding, solving problems, and building new things from the ground up.
What makes TripleTen even more special is the community it fosters.
The tutors, mentors, and fellow students have created a space that feels like a team. We support each other when we hit roadblocks, celebrate each other’s successes, and encourage each other to keep pushing forward. Whether it's a tutor breaking down a complex concept or a fellow student sharing tips in our Discord community, there's always someone ready to lend a hand.
As someone who had been away from coding for so long, it was incredibly reassuring to know that I wasn’t on this journey alone. In fact, it felt like I had an entire team of people rooting for me, from the instructors to the Success Management team. The feedback I received on each project has been invaluable, allowing me to grow and improve with each sprint.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Relearning coding, adapting to new technologies, and balancing my learning with everyday life hasn’t been easy. But every time I overcome a challenge, I’m reminded of why I’m doing this. I’m reminded of how much I’ve missed this feeling—of solving problems, learning new things, and working on something that excites me.
I’m not just learning to code. I’m reclaiming the career I once thought I had lost.
TripleTen has given me the opportunity to build the skills I need to succeed in software engineering.
It’s allowed me to re-enter the tech world, not just as an observer, but as an active participant. With each passing sprint, I feel more confident in my abilities and more excited about the future. I know that once I complete this program, I’ll be ready to step into the world of tech and build the career I’ve always wanted.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my journey, it’s that it’s never too late to pursue your passions. Thanks to TripleTen, I’m finally back on the path that I belong on—coding, creating, and excited for what comes next.
